Over the next few days I will be sharing about my plans for an exciting summer that is the culmination of a decade of work and dreaming! My resilience research has led to an intense exploration of the Holocaust and a wonderful relationship with many survivors. I have been blessed to work with the Tennessee Holocaust Commission and its executive director, Danielle Kahane-Kaminsky, who has become a close friend and colleague. We are busily preparing a course for graduate students in the Academic Health Sciences Center that will launch this summer, Holocaust Whispers: Lessons in Resilience. Additionally, we are honored to host the Deadly Medicine exhibit at ETSU’s Reece Museum beginning in August 2017.
But first, I will be visiting Warsaw, Krakow, and Prague to explore Holocaust sites, Jewish Community Centers, and to experience the land that has so greatly influenced my research. I hope you will follow along on my adventure and feel free to post comments/questions. My plan is to vlog daily, depending on wi-fi access. Stay tuned……….
